Concept and Functions of Human Resources

Human Resources, also known as the Human Potential or human activity, refer to all workers, employees or staff in our business or enterprise.

The Human Resources Administration, referring to management, administration, personnel management or business address.

And the area of Human Resources refers to the area, department or a business or company, responsible for managing human resources.

As business owners, we can appoint a manager or create a charge of Human Resources Management, however, there are functions related to Human Resources, to be performed by us and any worker who has his staff, functions such as leadership, motivation or control.

Let’s look at some of the functions related to Human Resources:

Incorporating personal

The role of recruitment of new staff is to determine the profile of the person we need to fill the position we are offering, detain or summon the applicants who fit that profile, evaluate through testing and interviewing, selecting and recruiting the most suitable (or most suitable), and induce and enable him to adapt to his new position and the company as soon as possible.

Administration of salaries, allowances and benefits

Is to manage everything related to the perceptions, benefits and employee benefits.

For example, is to identify and manage their compensation (wages and salaries), work schedules, their vacations, their deductions (tax, pensions and insurance), discounts, etc…

Education and training

Is to educate, train and constantly train our workers:

* Education: is to provide values and attitudes.
* Training: is to provide knowledge, it can choose to hire external trainers, to send our employees where specialized institutions, provide literature and texts on a given topic, and so on.
* Training: is to provide practical knowledge, so that the worker acquires skills and experience and occurs while the worker performs its function, for example, selling or using a complex machine.

Communication

The communication function is to ensure that the business or company there is clear communication, adequate and effective.

The communication must be expressed in clear, simple and understandable to the recipient and should be as accurate as possible, without the use of linguistic ornaments or more information.

Messages must be complete and consistent, i.e. there should be consistency between the messages written, oral and nonverbal, and for example, we cannot give a verbal message, but through our actions, send a message that contradicts the first.

Leadership

The leadership role is to influence or induce the workers to perform their jobs or tasks, and meet their objectives, efficiently, enthusiastically and voluntarily.

Through good leadership we can influence workers to follow us and to accept our decisions without hesitation or conditions.

Grounds

The motivation is the act of encouraging workers to have better performance in meeting the objectives through motivation, the better performance, higher productivity, greater efficiency, creativity, responsibility and commitment on the part of workers.

Building and leading teams

To build and lead groups or teams, guide them towards achieving their goals, motivate, maintain group harmony, and resolve problems or discrepancies that may occur.

The set up working groups not only allows the worker to feel more confident, optimistic and motivated, but work in teams to create reinforcement between the workers and therefore production of the group or team ends up being higher than what workers would be achieved by working alone.

Control and performance evaluation

Is to monitor and constantly evaluate the performance of workers and their rapport with the job and the company.

For this we make use of techniques such as allocation criteria, where each worker can we assign a score on criteria such as responsibility, punctuality, productivity, initiative, teamwork, cleanliness at work, etc., Punctuation accumulates, for example, every three or six months.

Promotion and management of key employees

Is to keep the company employees that really make it grow, preventing competition to lead them, and carried with them not only their customers but also internal business knowledge (“know how”).

To do this we must recognize and commend his performance or achievements, to show concern for their welfare, make them feel committed to the company, or use other motivational techniques.
