Advertising Concept

Advertising is one element of the promotional mix and Communication, the most effective of them to promote a product or service, but on the other hand, the most expensive.

Advertising is to raise awareness, inform and to recall a product or service to consumers and to persuade or encourage the purchase or acquisition, through the use of impersonal media and communication, i.e. communication and media that are addressed to several people at once.

You may also define advertising as the ad or message that is sent to consumers through the media or advertising channels.

We must not confuse advertising with propaganda, which is the spread of doctrines or ideas, for example, religious, political, etc.

Advertising consists of the following elements:

Emitter

Is responsible for defining advertising goals, advertising media and advertising messages to be sent to the receiver (the public). The Issuer is a business or company to launch the campaign.

Target advertising

Is the goal to be achieved by making use of advertising, for example, to publicize the existence of a new product, to report on their main characteristics, persuade or motivate a purchase, to remember their existence, and so on.

Media or advertising channel

It is the means or channel through which the advertisement is sent to the target audience, examples of advertising are television, radio, newspapers, magazines, Internet, traditional mail and electronic, fairs, campaigns, events, posters, billboards , brochures, flyers, etc..

Advertisement

Is the message that is sent to the target audience through the media or advertising channels.

The advertisement must identify the main features, benefits or attributes of the product and should be composed of a clear, fluid and easy to understand.

The advertising message will catch the attention of consumers, and a message must be truthful, do not offer something that the product does not possess or something that cannot be enforced.

Receiver

Is the one who receives the advertising message through the media or advertising channels. The receiver consists of the target.
